On November 17th, 2022, Stone Solutions and Research Collective LLC (S2RC) achieved verification and certification as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). An SDVOSB is a business that is owned and operated by a service-disabled veteran who incurred or aggravated a disability in the line of duty while serving in the military. Additionally, the SDVOSB must adhere to the Small Business Administration's (SBA) size standards for their industry.
SDVOSBs are granted certain benefits and preferences when being awarded federal contracts. Federal agencies are required to allocate a certain percentage of contracts for SDVOSBs, and these businesses may receive priority in the bidding process. To obtain SDVOSB certification, the business owner must provide documentation to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) verifying their service-disabled status and ownership of the business. The business must also meet specific criteria, including being small according to SBA standards and being managed and controlled by the service-disabled veteran.
